How To Make a Difference in 140 Characters or Less

How to Make A Difference

Last week I got the following tweet:

But, he brings up a good point. If we are to transform culture, then we need to get the message out.

“One word of truth outweighs the world.” – Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn

The Pulitzer Prize winning novelist Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn might have been surprised to learn just how prophetic his words would become. In a social mediated world governed by the expediency of communication, the struggle for truth is often played out in 140 characters or less.

Take for example, the rise of ISIS through its terrorist propaganda. Their rapid expansion has in part been fueled by Twitter, a platform they’ve tactfully used to recruit supporters in their murderous cause.

To combat their efforts, the U.S. Department of State has responded with the Think Again, Turn Away Twitter account, designed to reveal the awful truths of ISIS to those on the fence about joining their ranks.

In his day, Solzhenitsyn was a voice that exposed the inhuman practices of the Soviet Union. His seminal work, The Gulag Archipelago, became a cultural catalyst in bringing down the communist system.

Solzhenitsyn understood what far too many dismiss: words matter.

The potency of language has always played a crucial role in shaping history, for good or evil. Whether a speech, novel, or Twitterfeed; whether lengthy or succinct, your words matter.

The internet uniquely provides us all with a voice into culture regardless of location and status.

We have a message of truth that the world needs to hear: religious freedom is critical for a free society. Life is worth protecting—from conception to natural death. And marriage is the foundation for our society and needs to be promoted and protected. (Marriage is the future!)

But we can’t change our culture on our own. We need YOU!

You can make a difference by spreading the message to your friends and followers. Please take a quick moment to follow us  on Twitter, and then commit to retweet and share content so that the truth can be heard.

This conversation is two-sided. We want to hear from you as well! Hit us up on Twitter from time to time to let us know when something is happening in your neck of the woods. Share a good article with us! Working with you means our unified reach is much greater.
